As part of a major vehicle lineup shift, Volvo is reigning in the New Year by introducing a new car to its State-side line-up. The Volvo V60 is part luxury sedan, part station wagon, and part crossover. It defies classification, but also borrows elements from a number of other Volvo favorites, including the S60 sedan. For several years now, the V60 has grown into one of Volvo's top offerings in Europe, prompting a return of the "V" line after the discontinuation of the V50 and V70 wagons several years ago. Now, the V60 is here to fill that void, and it will be available in the U.S. (and at Howard Orloff Volvo Cars in downtown Chicago) soon!

Volvo has yet to release all of the new V60's specs and features. We do know some exciting details, however, in anticipation for its upcoming U.S. release. The base trim will feature a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes nearly 250 horsepower and gets almost 30 miles per gallon fuel efficiency on the highway. On top of the powerful standard engine, the V60 will feature an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifting capabilities for added control. The base trim is guided by front-wheel drive, but buyers will have the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive with two more engine options. The R Design performance trim, Volvo's fully-loaded V60, features a 325 horsepower six-cylinder engine.

The V60 stands just under 5 feet tall, stretches 15 feet long, and comfortably seats 5 adult passengers. The two front bucket seats and back row will both feature heated seats, and drivers will appreciate a heated steering wheel as well. While feature information is scarce, Volvo has confirmed cell phone compatibility and Bluetooth integration, as well as a slew of safety features including emergency pedestrian breaking, auto-dimming high beam lights, parking assistance, lane warning systems, and more. Since it's a Volvo, we also know that there will be many more standard and optional features to come with the V60, and drivers and passengers alike will not be disappointed by its comfort, convenience, and performance.
