The Chicago Auto Show has been held more times than any other auto show in North America. This year marks the 108th edition of the event, which was started in 1901. In 1935 the Chicago Automobile Trade Association took over production of the show, and they've been running things ever since. Attending the Chicago Auto Show doesn't just guarantee that you'll see the latest in automotive technology - it guarantees that you'll be part of history.

The 2016 Chicago Auto Show runs from February 13th to February 21st, and is being held in its usual location - McCormick Place Convention Center. The show takes up a whopping 1 million square feet of space inside the venue. Exhibitors have plenty of room to display numerous vehicles, host free concerts and even set up indoor test tracks.

All exhibits are held inside the convention center, and this year's exhibits will include multiple North American introductions, experiment and concept cars and a wide range of all-new domestic and foreign cars, trucks and SUVs. If you attend this year's show you'll also have the opportunity to check out the latest accessories on display and many other auto-related exhibits that will be featuring products and services.

This Auto Show has something for everyone in the family. From autograph sessions to live performances, you'll see numerous big name personalities along with appearances by some local Chicagoland favorites like the Cubs' mascot. There are car giveaways and test drives scheduled throughout the show, and events to keep the kids entertained as well. From radio stations to television crews, the auto show will have representatives from some of your favorite local channels, as well as some national celebrities.

One of the most popular exhibits at the Chicago Auto Show is created by Volvo. The automaker will be displaying 8 vehicles this year including the S60, S60 Cross Country, S80, V60, XC60, XC70, and the XC90. Volvo will also be debuting the 2017 S90. Volvo is known for having an exciting exhibit that attracts thousands of consumers every year. They have introduced many innovative vehicles at the car show, and this year will surely be no different.

One of the vehicles on display at Volvo's exhibit will be the 2016 Volvo S60. The bold Scandinavian design of this car can be seen in the beautiful and simple shapes and surfaces on the interior and exterior of the vehicle. S60 base models are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and the new start/stop feature is sure to impress consumers. S60s with automatic transmissions can also be furnished with a paddle shifter that allows the driver to shift gears manually while keeping both hands on the wheel.

The 2016 Volvo S60 Cross Country is an exciting new model that blends wagon and crossover designs into a premium sedan. Offered in just one well-equipped model, the S60 T5 AWD Cross Country Platinum has a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine under the hood. It comes with a standard-equipped six-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is also standard, as well as a lower skid plate and honeycomb grille. Advanced technology inside the S60 Cross Country includes a pedestrian and cyclist radar- and camera-based detection system, adaptive cruise control with queue assist, distance alert, driver alert control, collision warning with full auto braking and lane departure warning.

The Volvo S80 flagship sedan will also be present at the Auto Show. This year it gains Volvo's new Drive-E technology and is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct injection. This year's expanded array of standard features includes an interior air quality system, heated front seats, 18-inch Magni alloy wheels and a power glass sunroof. Available options include 19-inch Bor alloy wheels and a wood steering wheel.

The 2016 Volvo V60 and V60 Cross Country wagon models will also be there. Based on the S60, this vehicle retains the coupe-like profile but increases the rear cargo space. The V60 T5 model is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine matched with an eight-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. This model is also equipped with the start/stop feature, which automatically stops the engine when the vehicle isn't moving and restarts it when the driver releases the brake pedal. 17-inch Pallene alloy wheels are standard on the T5 model as well, and an available sport chassis will lower the height and provide a stiffer body structure.

The 2016 Volvo XC60 comes with your choice of 2 innovative Drive-E 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. The class leading XC60 T5 Drive-E has turbocharge and direct-injection to turn out 240-horsepower. If you choose to step up to the XC60 T6 Drive-E you'll have a turbocharger and a supercharger for the 2.0-liter engine that will increase the horsepower output to 302. Both engines are perfectly matched with an eight-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. The start/stop feature is standard on the 2016 XC60 also.

On display at this year's Chicago Auto Show will also be a new model in the Volvo luxury sedan wagon lineup - the 2016 Volvo XC70. The automaker's electronically controlled all-wheel drive with instant traction is a standard feature on the XC70 T5 AWD, which provides four-season benefits. Under the hood is a 250-horsepower turbocharged five-cylinder engine and a standard-equipped six speed Geartronic transmission. Last year this vehicle was redesigned and the fresh front and rear styling cues continue into 2016.

The 2016 Volvo XC90 can be viewed at the auto show this year. Volvo has referred to the all-new XC90 as the beginning of a new chapter for the iconic brand. This luxury seven-passenger SUV is visually striking and features the Drive-E powertrain technologies for increased fuel efficiency and improved performance. Normally, driving is done in the default hybrid mode, but with the push of a button you can switch to emission-free pure electric power for a range of about 40 kilometers. This vehicle is also equipped with two world first safety technologies: auto brake intersection capability and a run-off road protection package.

And making its first appearance will be the 2017 Volvo S90. With its stunning Scandinavian design, cloud-based applications and service, and state-of-the-art safety features, this vehicle is making a bold entry in the top-tier sedan market. The 2017 S90 can detect cyclists, pedestrians and large animals in the roadway. Not only will it warn you, but it will also apply the brakes if you don't intervene fast enough. This sedan also offers driver assistance features including Volvo's world-first run-off-road mitigation with steer assist technology, assistance in maintaining a set speed or distance to the car in front of you, and gentle steering inputs to keep you properly aligned within the markings of your lane.
