The New 2021 Volvo XC60

Delivering a New Level of Crossover Refinement

When looking for your next premium crossover, it can be challenging to find your ideal blend of luxury, style, and practicality. The 2021 Volvo XC60 strikes a perfect balance of upscale accommodations, versatile utility, and consummate Scandinavian design. Whether you're seeking an ultra-comfortable family mover or an executive commuter with extra cargo space, it's ideally suited to the various needs of discerning Lincolnwood drivers. And with its engaging performance, luxurious cabin, and wealth of advanced tech and safety features, it delivers an enjoyable driving experience every time you sit behind the wheel.

What's New for 2021?

The Volvo XC60 continues its second generation with more amenities for the base Momentum trim level and a new naming convention for its plug-in hybrid powertrain. For the 2021 model year, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert join the XC60's already lengthy list of standard driver-assistance technologies. XC60 Momentum models also receive steering-adaptive LED headlights, LED fog lights, a hands-free power liftgate and power-folding auto-dimming side mirrors.

To maintain continuity across Volvo's hybrid/electric initiatives, the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain has been renamed Recharge.

Design, Accommodations, and Utility

Be prepared to turn heads with every arrival, as the XC60 sports a highly refined appearance to match its luxurious nature. From its dynamic character lines and muscular sculpting to its broad-shouldered stance and assertive front fascia, the XC60 exemplifies Volvo's signature Scandinavian design language. Keyless proximity entry, a hands-free liftgate, and integrated roof rails exhibit the automaker's penchant for practicality. But with intriguing details like a prominent black grille, Thor's Hammer running lights, and distinctive wheel designs, the XC60's not afraid to show off.

On the inside, the XC60 is a work of art with its minimalist, contemporary design that favors quality over clutter. The spacious and inviting cabin abounds with premium materials and attractive design elements. And the well-cushioned, bolstered, and supportive seats provide long-distance comfort. The XC60 offers numerous standard and available amenities to enhance the experience, including a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, and dual or four-zone automatic climate control.

Behind the second-row, the XC60 retains 30 cubic feet for cargo. And with the rear seats folded, capacity grows to 64.4 cubic feet.

The 2021 XC60 is available to Lincoln Park drivers in three powertrain options, each based on a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

  • T5: The base engine delivers 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels, and all-wheel-drive is an available option.

  • T6: The twincharged T6 adds a supercharger to the mix, boosting performance to 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel-drive is standard.

  • Recharge: This plug-in hybrid links the twincharged powerplant with a pair of rear-axle electric motors for a total output of 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel-drive is standard, and the XC60 Recharge has an all-electric range of 19-miles.

A 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen is the focal point of the XC60's minimalist-inspired layout, and features a vertical orientation for easier menu navigation and full-screen map viewing. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto seamlessly integrate your smartphone with the central display, providing convenient access to hands-free communications, streaming media, maps and directions, and more.

Available Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control and lane-tracing technologies to help mitigate the stress and fatigue of a long road trip or tedious commute. This semi-autonomous driving features automatically controls the steering, throttle, and brakes to maintain a preset distance from leading vehicles and keep you centered in the lane.

Volvo has long been known for its commitment to automotive safety, which is on full display in the 2021 XC60. Standard driver-assistance technologies include:

  • Blind Spot Information System and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Lane Keeping Aid
